Today, we as humans inhabit two worlds: the real world and the World Wide Web. The latter is a world that continues to expand and as it grows so does the potential to encountering new experiences that advance our potential for productivity. However, it is safe to say that the odds of running into dangerous situations on the internet have increased tremendously since its inception. Situations such as the anonymity of other individuals who post information and the validity of the information that is posted have become reoccurring issues in the past couple of years. It now takes a critical mind to decipher which information is valid, and another to decipher if the information being presented is false. In student/teacher forums it is good courtesy to post your picture so that your fellow classmates know who they are talking to. Students today should be smart and alert when using the internet. Use sound judgment on the information that is given to you, and never give out your personal information to people who ask for it. Make sure that the website that you are on has a check mark next to the URL, or a small lock pick which insinuates the validity of the website. If someone continues to ask for your information report to your local law enforcement authorities.
